India has announced that its solar power goals are going
be more than quadruple the worldwide solar installations last year.
India plans on generating 20 gigawatts of power by 2020 and 200 gigawatts by 2050. Last years installed base of solar globally was 6 gigawatts. The best solar year ever globally. India is well suited to Solar usage because it scales well given the terrain and environment.
India’s government plans numerous strategies to accomplish this task tariff reductions to make the more expensive solar power more appealing; tax and customs changes and a national renewable energy standard which could include a requirement that Indian states create up to 3% of their energy from solar.
