China Launches Huge Solar Subsidy

The Chinese Ministry of Finance announced Thursday (3/26) that they would begin a massive solar subsidy amounting to approximately 1/2 of the costs.

Many Solar Power companies shares jumped at the news. San Jose-based SunPower Corp. (NASDAQ:SPWRA) shares rose about 16 percent to $29.73 during the day's trading and Tempe, Ariz.-based First Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) rose more than 15 percent to $158.49.
